We get it. Even the simplest digital display network solution (we’re talking about Panelz, here) is going to bring up a few questions. Here are the questions we hear the most, except for “Could Panelz be any more awesome?”
General Questions
All you need is WiFi access, a TV or monitor with a HDMI input, and an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
Panelz requires WiFi to register new displays and change playlists. However, once a playlist is active on a display, the playlist will continue to play even if the WiFi connection is lost. This is because Panelz downloads the playlist to the player instead of streaming your content. That means you have rock-solid playback even with slow, or no, WiFi. That also makes Panelz great for locations where you may not have WiFi available - like a trade show.
Panelz can display videos and images. With our Canva integration, you can also import designs and videos directly from your Canva library.
Don't worry about special formatting of your files. Panelz recognizes most file formats and will do any necessary conversions for you as part of the upload process.
You can have as many displays as you need. Whether you have one screen, five screens, or five-hundred screens, Panelz makes it easy to manage your display network with our user-friendly online dashboard.
Not at all! The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is very compact and can easily fit behind most existing TV installations. If you plan to use a new TV, simply install it like you would in any other situation. Getting started with Panelz is super easy.
Hardware Questions
Unlike other digital signage services, Panelz does not rely on expensive, proprietary hardware. We built our service around readily available hardware made by Amazon.
The Panelz player is an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max. It's important that you purchase the 4K Max stick - other Fire TV Sticks may not be compatible. You can purchase one here and have it tomorrow, or swing by your local Best Buy to pick one up today!
Nope. Any TV or monitor with a HDMI input will work with Panelz.
Features
To add a new display, plug your Amazon Fire TV Stick into your TV or monitor and download the Panelz app from the Amazon App Store. Launch Panelz, and the app will display a 4 character sync code. In your online dashboard, click the + sign at the top right of the Display Network. Enter the sync code from the TV and name your display. Hit 'Save' and your all set!
